The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has described as untrue information circulating in the social media that the monthly allowance of corps members has been slashed by 25 per cent.
A statement yesterday said: “The scheme vehemently dissociates itself from this falsehood meant to create confusion in the polity. The Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General S.Z. Kazaure is not aware of such a decision as claimed by the publication.
“NYSC corps members’ allowance remains N19,800 and has not been reduced to N14,800 as portrayed by the social media.
“For the avoidance of doubts, we unequivocally restate our unalloyed commitment to the welfare of all corps members.
“Corps members and the public should therefore ignore this misleading information.”
