Oparanozie’s strike takes Nigeria to record 10th AWCON Final

A 53rd minute strike by Desire Oparanozie was all the Super Falcons needed to get to a record 10th African Women Cup of Nations finals.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria will now face host nation Cameroon in the final of this years African Women Cup of Nations in Younde.

The first half was goalless with both side creating goal scoring chances but failed to find the back of the net.

The South Africans conceded a free-kick in the 52nd which Desire Oparanozie converted from the edge of the box.

Earlier today, Ghana were knocked out by host nations Cameroon in the first semi final fixture to set up a repeat of the 2014 women final versus the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
