Aisha Buhari has been in the news a lot recently.
The First Lady, recently granted an interview to BBC, claiming that her husband was not in full control of his government and said that she would not campaign with him in 2019 if things continue in this manner. Her comments sparked a lot of outrage.
The President responded to his wife’s comments, according to this report by the Associated Press saying
I don’t know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room.
He made this statement right in front of the German Chancellor Angela Merkel who was standing at his side and she gave him a short glare and laughed. A lot of Nigerians were displeased about his comments because they were demeaning to women and suggested that women do not have anything to offer to the world. Some of the reactions were quite hilarious too.
Well, The First Lady is obviously not having it. She shared that she would be attending a forum in Brussels where she will be giving the opening remark on “Women’s Role in Global Security”. Aisha Buhari is proving that women can be everything they want to and can occupy all the rooms they wish to. We absolutely loved the pictures she shared on her twitter page.
